READING BY SONLIGHT – WOMEN’S BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP

For the June 26th meeting we will discuss, The Light Between the Ocean’s by M. L. Stedman.
“After four harrowing years on the Western Front, Tom Sherbourne returns to Australia and takes a job as the lighthouse keeper on Janus Rock. To this isolated island, Tom brings a young, bold, and loving wife, Isabel. After two miscarriages and one stillbirth, the grieving Isabel hears a baby’s cry on the wind. A boat has washed up onshore carrying a dead man and a living baby. Then we are swept into a story about extraordinarily compelling characters seeking to find their North Star in a world where there is no right answer, where justice for one person is another’s tragic loss….a deeply moving novel”

As always, women from the surrounding communities are welcome to attend.  We meet at 7:00 till 8:30pm, but if you have situations that mean you must come late, or leave early, you are still welcome.  You are also welcome even if you haven’t read the book, if you wish to be in a lively discussion that connects our faith to literature of the day. Hope, our gracious hostess and co-leader, always brings coffee and candy for which we are grateful.  (continued on next page)
